Our church provides space to for several organizations / programs in support of the community in which we live. Below are the organizations and their associated information:
Food for Friends’ Saturday soup kitchen program is housed at First Pres., with many church members assisting as chefs, servers, and volunteers. Non-perishable food items can be dropped off at the church office on Monday – Thursday, from 10am-3:00pm. Learn more about the program here.
The Rahway Board of Education provides an after school tutoring program housed at First that meets during the school year on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 3:00-5:15pm. To inquire, contact Christine Salcito @ 732-396-1013.
This program supports school readiness and provides informal family, friend or neighbor caregivers with skills to enhance and support the learning experiences of children in their care. Learn more about the program here.
There is one Girl Scout Troop and one Cub Scout Pack who currently meet in the church gym area: Troop 41748 – Saturdays, 10:00-11:30am; Cub Scout Pack 47 – Thursdays, 6:00pm / last week of the month, Friday at 6:00pm.
This group organizes and holds youth soccer practices in the church gym area on Tuesdays from 6:30-8:00pm.
Alcoholics Anonymous meetings are held every Saturday at 7:00pm in Squier Hall, third floor.
This group is an organization that is committed to furthering the study of historic electric railway operations and equipment. Learn more about NJERHS here.
